Hello to all none of you that are reading this.

This first entry in this blog is absolutely requisite. My name is Matt, and I host Torch the Mall on 88.7FM WNHU West Haven, broadcasting out of the University of New Haven. My show airs from Midnight until at least 2AM on Friday nights/Saturday mornings on this station in the New Haven area as well as a live stream at http://www.wnhu.net. My show is a "metal" show that places more emphasis on grindcore, powerviolence, and hardcore than the rest of the relative shows do. Additionally, I occasionally fit in some noise and noisecore into my show. However, I still like to keep the show eclectic, so I do play death metal, black metal, thrash, etc. As you can tell, I prefer more "extreme" music, even though I'm so adjusted to it that I find it troublesome to label it so. It almost makes me feel like I'm giving myself more credit than due.

Anyway, I do have a page on MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/torchthemall. However, I have come across two problems with this: 1) MySpace is shit, and; 2) the blog on MySpace only keeps about two months worth of blogs entries for me. What this means is that I have been incapable of fully archiving my playlists since I started my radio show back in January 2006. However, over the course of the next few weeks, I plan to go through the archive tapes that I do have for my show so far as well as any outside sources that can provide me with any information for posting older playlists. I want to post as many old playlists as I can, and then I can resume posting playlists when my show returns to the air for the Spring 2007 semester (January 26, 2006).
